BIOGRAPHY

Eleazar Rodriguez, Jr. “aka JR” was born in Youngstown, Ohio, in 1962 where his parents pastored an Assembly of God church.  He felt strongly the calling of God early in his life.  At the age offifteen he went to Bible College in Mexico and graduated in 1979.

In 1981 he became a minister with the General Council of theAssemblies of God.  He has served as an associate pastor and youth pastor.  In 1988 he was elected to serve as the youth director for the Gulf Latin American District (GLAD) Council of the Assemblies of God (GLAD) which covers four states:  Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas.

While serving as Youth Director, doors opened to speak at youth and leaders conferences throughout the United States, Mexico, Central and South America.

In 1993 he resigned as Youth Director to become the pastor of Templo Aposento Alto (Upper Room Assembly) in Houston, Texas where he is presently pastoring.

JR has served on staff of the Association of Evangelism of GLAD, as General Presbyter and for the past 6 years as an Executive Presbyter. In 2005 He was elected a Superintendent of the EAST Regional Conference of GLAD, and oversees more than 100 churches and over 200 Pastors and ministers.

He is associated and a representative of E.N.L.A.C.E., a TBN affiliate, and produces Spanish Television for more than 55 countries in Latin America and 26 states in the USA.  He and his wife host a weekly program “For People Like You” which is aired weekly and reaches an audience of an estimated 60 million.

JR has been an invited guest on the Trinity Broadcasting Network “Praise the Lord” program which is viewed worldwide, and a host for “PTL” Program for Houston’s local TBN as well as the co-host for the CET Network telethons (6 TBN affiliates). 
 
JR wrote his first book entitled “Violent Generation” (Spanish/English), published by Creation House.

His ministry is greatly complemented by his lovely wife Patsy, who has her solo CD entitled “Be Real.”   Coming from a divorced home, Patsy’s ministry through Word, song and personal testimony has brought healing and hope to many.

Some of the vision includes:  building the Youth Center, My Friend’s House (an apartment complex for housing the elderly and needy), Spanish/English Radio. Presently they are in the beginning stages of their 2,200 seat sanctuary.

JR and Patsy reside in Houston, Texas with their two sons Eleazar III and Joseph Ryan.
